Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in an LA Car Crash

Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The celebrated video game developer lost his life when his automobile collided and burst into flames on a highway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's family, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
