Netflix Casts Ideal Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash won’t take place until season 3, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed recently that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bon Clay. The role can use their power to change into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a interpretation of that character reinterpreted as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, unlike the original manga and anime.
The new cast member joins several other new cast members set to bring Baroque Works to the screen, featuring head Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, a talented actress as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the ensemble as the monarch of Alabasta.
Though the role is a key figure of the group, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering the second season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this represents a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is due to premiere for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
