Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
