From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to begin their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look out of place, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing started the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the party enter areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Seekers and Planners parties.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
