Arsenal's manager feels assured that his team can persist in handling with player absences following confirming that star striker Kai Havertz is not ready for several more weeks.

Prolonged Recovery for German Star

The Germany international has been absent since the summer after undergoing an operation on his knee. Originally slated to be available sooner, Arteta revealed the player faced a hurdle when advancing his recovery and was unable to move forward “the required stage.”

“We learned, and we were able to put together a team that is far more dependable and has increased versatility,” commented Arteta.

This news presents a dilemma for the midweek fixture at the Emirates against Brentford. Questioned if more options was benefiting their championship push, the manager agreed. “Indeed, because this season has seen more issues in certain positions, and now what’s happening with the defence,” he continued.

“History has shown us that we need to utilize players in different positions, and they must be capable to perform various functions if we aim to challenge at the top. And the example of Mikel is probably the prime illustration.”

Speaking about the delay highlighted by national team coach Julian Nagelsmann, the manager gave further detail. “His recovery was progressing. He failed to advance to the required step and now it appears like we have unlocked that.”

Arteta expressed his keenness to have him back. “The team is keen to have him. I mean, it’s a player that, for me, I admire greatly for what he brings to the team, but his character, his nature. I observe his frustration being outside.”

“His playing record is phenomenal, he’s been always available, and I look forward to get him back with the squad playing because I think it’s going to be a huge lift.”
